To a boating enthusiast, having the right equipment for boating pleasure is not a desire but a true must. With that need for good equipment comes the requirement for a solid outboard motor. So when selecting a solid outboard motor what is a good name to trust? For many years, the name Johnson Outboards has stood out with many boat lovers.
So here is a little history about Johnson outboard boat motors. In Terre Haute, Indiana lived Lou, Harry, Julius, and Clarence Johnson. These brothers constructed an inboard boat motor and traveled up the Wabash River. (At that time, they also built a 2-cycle engine, which had a part in monoplane aerial works as well.) By 1921, one brother, Lou started working on another engine...the Johnson Model A. By 1923, their reputation was building greatly when they had manufactured over 7,000 of these engines.
Their work into outboard motors came in 1926 when they were the first to build such an engine. They continued to progress and constructed their first plant by Lake Michigan.
Even though the original Johnson Brothers did not continue on, their name stayed onboard when Briggs and Evinrude took over the company by the 1930’s. They were determined to carry on the growth of this outstanding business and not let it sink into oblivion.
The Johnson outboard motor brand has a reputation for consistency and durability. Their long history has testified to the fact in the world of boating engines, the Johnson outboard boat motor is un-matched in its reliability.
The competition sees the growth of Johnson outboard motor parts and Johnson outboard
boat motors as something to try to imitate. However, the fact is, like most copies, that Johnson’s brand on the boat motor world is nigh on impossible to overshadow. Johnson outboard motors come equipped with state of the art design and specs that continue to strengthen its hold on the outboard motor world.
With its growth have come some of the most impressive outboard motors. Among their inventory are the Johnson 25 hp and 9.9 Johnson outboard motors. Besides these two motors, other Johnson outboard motors display a huge assortment to choose. The brothers themselves have long since passed on, but their contribution to the world of boating never has been rivaled nor is it apt to be anytime soon. As most boating enthusiasts claim, Johnson outboard motors is a must have for smooth boating.
